We Are One

Art Plus Hope is focused on uniting writers with the intentions to show the power of unity. As a group we stand a better potential to preach positive words and heal our broken societies.  One way to do so is through poetry. In this post we showcase poems by different poets sharing their thoughts on the title We Are One.

Poet : Gerald Tapiwa Moyo

Coming across the infinite;
recording everyone's face,
Is not that definite.

Different groups execute;
different tasks which are destitute,
in the activities for their principalities.

As one gets closer;
to another to take a survey,
pride of oneself is the most;
visible attribute.

What are we;
Leaving unattended individuals;
In need of what we call,
'Trash'?

Even though we have problems;
In our lives,
there is attribute known as;
Selflessness that we are lacking.

There is true need;
to recollect ourselves,
Every benevolent attribute;
that we have stored in our own shelves.
Drag all these to one ground.

Kind debris spread throughout;
must quench our unrevealed thirst for eradicating,
All that immoral drought.
We need to fight with all might.

We Are One.
Team with no need;
For a division in terms,
Of what is felt by another should affect us all.
This is a call to every soul;
A plan that requires none to tore.

Visible;
Should be that scenery that:
Entices peace.
Fantasies everyone,
As We Are One!

No matter how tiny;
One may be that will not,
Change the knot.
We are One.

Poet: Chychy The Writer

 From color to grey,
 Grey to ashes,
Ashes to dust,
So is their fate.

Living from hand to mouth,
Dreadful to take a glance of the future,
Scared to dream,
Bound in chains,
Coiled in poverty,
So far yet so near,
With change seemingly a hand stretch away,
With desperation of expedient measures to evoke change ,
.... such is their life.
Yet We the world watch.
Have we forgotten that we’re all humans?

Even the dumbest can tell they’re used to their lifestyle
A lifestyle that cripple potential and ideas.
A series of miscarriages in terms of dreams.
It’s no life living with only the rags on you without any left in the closet,
It’s no life relying on roots and leaves for a meal
It’s no life working for no earnings
It’s no life dancing to the sound of bullets
Day in day out ,
Same old routine.
With the dawn of each day, a new life is welcomed to earth,
Efforts to sustain their own race.
An innocent soul with an untold future.
A rising population which decreases by the minute.
We the world know war zones aren’t a place for development or achievement.
Their plight is for all to see,
Naked and bare right before us.
But only a few of us take time to talk about it;
We are one, the comfort we’re enjoying they deserve it too.

Middle East Western Asia ,
Central Africa,
Where my heart is.
With no penny to offer them
But just a cry to the world on their behalf.
We are one,
The human race,
How about we personalize their pain,
And make strides for their tomorrow.
With a bleeding heart I pen off.

Poet: Dotor coGwigla

Polarised into multiple axis
All because of toxic political ideologies
One turning against the other
Some have become beasts
Only because of a thing called the power
We are all of the black descend
So why kill each other
When shall we discern
That we are being used to push for someone's agenda we are one
Why fight and destroy other than start building
I call for collaboration
Rather than the blame game
Zimbabwe is ours let us build it together
We are one...
Hence I call for unity, peace, and tranquility to prevail
#i will not rest until my brethren finds peace

Poet: Cranium Simpleton

Of cause you and l we are one
We hail from the same source
We grew from the same source
We were born of cause to be one

Good places do not shout but speak last
Excellent places would rather whisper
Its the empty bad places that make the loudest noise
So allow me to be modest and say
You and l are one fashioned from the same tree
Just look at the way we conduct ourselves so care free

In the midst of the night we sing our praise to Him
During the day we go about our business for Him
Our lives are designed to tell the story of Him
How can we live without Him for in Him we prosper
Realising our dreams are connected to each other in Him
You and l are one l know and will proclaim

The inevitable truth foretold time and time again
The oneness unfolding in our lives everyday
We experience the love of Him and receive our call
To live and let live in this one love manifesting in us
Come on, can you not see that we are one.

Poet : Ceperider/GDCM

One?
Yes we are!
As a team,clan,tribe we unite.
We work,labour & toil together
With blood,sweat & tears oozing.
ln one accord we strategise and struggle in it.
Through thick and thin we stand it all.

Day & night in one knot
We unite,tie up & solely stand
To rise,ride,fly & shine.
To grasp every chance being the motto.
To built our nation being the last hope.
Die trying remains the only resort of motivation.

Comes rain comes thunder or sunshine,
We just remain one
For we know our set goals,aims and targets,
aspirations and ambitions.
Being driven by passion to walk in victory,
Hence we choose to die as one.

Solidarity confirms our unionship
From dawn to sunset,
We are in the same consensus
No nemesis to intrude & escape us,
Because we have lit inferno since inception

Ohh yes we dwell in one spirit,
Pull up & down,
Lost it all &  Gain it all
Because we agreed to remain standing as one & only one
Indeed,we are one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
